I met Jenn and Matt back in January for their engagement session – although you’d never be able to tell how cold it was from these pictures! We started out in St. James Court in front of the beautiful, historic homes and the fountain – it was such a lovely afternoon spent with these two lovebirds.
The first thing I noticed about Matt and Jenn was that they both were so naturally at ease and comfortable together – just look at those loving glances! Jenn was a CHAMP in the 30 degree weather in a dress, and Matt with no jacket – they are just enjoying each other’s company and it shows.
I also ADORE Jenn’s flower tattoo, if I were ever brave enough, I would get something similar!
Central Park
After an outfit change, we walked across the way to Old Louisville’s Central Park – even though St. James Court and Central Park are popular photo spots, I try to make sure the pictures I take look different with every session! This time, I noticed how lovely the visitor center was, with its almost Spanish colonial style architecture.
Matt + Jenn’s wedding color will be pink, and she mentioned how much she loves florals – it’s definitely a great call for couples to try to coordinate engagement outfit colors with wedding colors, especially if you plan to feature one of your engagement photos on the invitation!
I would HIGHLY recommend these two locations for a winter engagement, because there was some ivy and hedges that were still very green, even in January!
For our last few photos, they wanted to do some CLASSIC Kentucky photos, because they are a house divided: UofL (Matt) versus UK (Jenn)! I love how playful they were with each other, especially when I asked them to put their “game face” on!
With the wedding just a few months away, I’m really looking forward to seeing these two exchange their vows and continue their journey together!
