Miriam + Aaron planned the most magical winter wedding at the Conrad-Caldwell House in historic Old Louisville. We met in December for their winter engagement photos at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens, and the first thing I noticed is that they were so gentle and loving towards each other. During their session, we met an adorable cat that lived on the property, which was fitting for these animal lovers! From talking with them both throughout the planning process, I knew they were crafting an intentional experience for their guests. Miriam and Aaron chose the wedding traditions they liked and tossed the ones that didn’t fit their day. Inclusivity and authenticity were at the top of their priorities for their wedding celebration.
winter wedding details
This winter wedding was at the historic Conrad-Caldwell House in Old Louisville. We explored the upstairs rooms with colorful wallpaper that complimented the magenta and emerald jewel tones they selected for their wedding party. It was almost like being in a palace, especially Miriam with her crown!

Conrad-Caldwell House Ceremony
Some of my favorite memories from their ceremony were the reading of “Forever – is composed of Nows” (Emily Dickinson) and Miriam and Aaron’s personalized vows. Aaron left us all with watery eyes after his vows, and guests passed tissues up the staircase to them.
Wintry newlywed portraits
After the ceremony, we ventured outside where snow lingered from the snowfall just days prior – it was FREEZING but really magical. Winter weddings are not as common, but they can be extremely picturesque after it snows!
Reception
Aaron and Miriam shared their first dance to Harry Styles “Adore You,” and I have to say, I LOVE this as a first dance song! Guests shared their well wishes with them using a rotary phone (After the Tone) which they are able to listen to after the wedding. This is a trend that is so special – imagine having your guest’s voices recorded forever from your wedding day. The personalized touches were everywhere: bouquets made by Miriam, signature cocktails named after their cat and hedgehog, a cheesecake bar, and handmade coasters as wedding favors made by Aaron’s sister.
Watching these two dance with their friends was definitely a highlight! I hope you all enjoy these photos from their magical winter wedding at Conrad-Caldwell House, it was a special one without a doubt.
