Germantown Gables is a newer wedding venue here in Louisville, and it’s definitely one that you should visit if you’re an engaged couple planning a wedding!

Conveniently located in Louisville’s Germantown neighborhood, this venue is a rare gem that is upscale, spacious and easily customizable to fit any type of design. The planning that went into making Germantown Gables a well-thought out space are thanks to owner Christina Burton, who herself is an incredible wedding and event planner in Louisville!

As a wedding photographer, in my opinion this venue has the best of everything –

  • Two ample getting ready spaces
  • Large indoor venue with plenty of natural light
  • Outdoor spaces for ceremony and/or cocktail hour options
  • A chic bourbon lounge
  • Plenty of room for big weddings and a dance floor
  • Romantic string lights in the outdoor courtyard

Mariah and Jody had their fall wedding at Germantown Gables, with their ceremony at nearby Shelby Park, which holds personal meaning to this community-oriented couple. They’re also co-owners of local business Beargrass Thunder!

While they didn’t have their ceremony here, their entire wedding party was able to get ready together in the beautifully decorated spaces, which are also very fun to photograph.

These two are also passionate about nature and the environment, so their accessories, colors, wedding favors, and even their cake celebrated that!

The reception hall area of Germantown Gables perfectly complimented their nature theme – the faux greenery was intentionally created for the venue, which means couples don’t have to bring in a ton of extra florals to decorate the space.

There are so many diverse spaces within this venue to take photos that look lovely in any season of the year, inside or out. Personally, I loved the golden sunlight that shone through the large windows during the toasts.

During cocktail hour and after their dinner catered by local favorite restaurant Foko, guests loved stepping out into the string-lit courtyard between songs for fresh air and conversation.

For couples planning a big wedding with a crowd that likes to dance, there is SO much space to dance here! Jody, Mariah and their guests made good use of it thanks to their excellent Dj Dnasti – her colorful set up and intuitive mixing kept the dance floor active all night!

I hope seeing this real fall wedding at Germantown Gables helps you to envision your own celebration in this incredible venue. Visit my website and fill out a contact form if you are looking for a Louisville wedding photographer with experience at this space.
