A collage of nine senior portraits in different Louisville locations

The summer between your junior and senior year is the PERFECT time to have senior portraits done in Louisville! Warm weather, incredible sunsets, more daylight, and nature showing off her bright colors is truly the best combination. If you love bold colors and are drawn to outdoor senior pictures, summer is a perfect time to schedule your session.

Each session is different, whether that’s with a new location or just new perspectives at a place I’ve been before. Read more about some of the fun ways we can plan your senior session on my Senior Portrait Experience page, or follow me on Pinterest or Instagram for more Louisville Senior Portrait ideas!

Here are a few highlights from some of my favorite Louisville senior portraits in the summer!

Louisville Waterfront Park Senior Portraits

The Louisville Waterfront area is a summertime favorite for senior portraits – you can’t beat golden hour and sunset by the bridges! Whether you like the water, the bridges or the downtown buildings in the background, all are stunning options to make your senior pictures stand out.

Cherokee Park Senior Portraits

One of my favorite local parks, Cherokee Park has so many options for senior photos! The summertime is the best, because everything is green and colorful wildflowers grow in different areas of the park. “Dog Hill”, Big Rock Creek and the wooden bridges are always favorite photo spots!

NuLu Senior Portraits

The trendy NuLu area has it all: colorful murals, cute shops and hidden gems for your session! This is an area that has a lot to offer within walking distance.

Parklands of Floyd’s Fork Senior Portraits

I mention the Parklands often because it is hands down my FAVORITE park for senior portraits in Kentucky! In the summertime especially, nature shows out and you can expect to be amazed by the wildflowers and greenery in the Parklands of Floyd’s Fork.

University of Louisville Senior Portraits

Having senior portraits taken at your school or university is a great way to personalize your senior portrait experience. I enjoy cap and gown celebration sessions at University of Louisville because the architecture on campus is impressive and elegant.

St. James Court Senior Portraits

Another local favorite, St. James Court is beautiful in the summertime when the fountain is flowing. This is also a great option when it’s hot out because of the numerous shade trees everywhere. The historic buildings in St. James Court are popular options for senior portraits in every season, but the summer especially!

Louisville Colorful Murals Senior Portraits

We’ve got so many beautiful murals in Louisville, and they can be really fun for senior pictures! You can view a list of mural locations on this blog post to find one that matches your school colors or just one that you like. Logan Street, Butchertown and NuLu have some of my favorite murals!

Louisville Rooftop Senior Portraits

If you love impressive skylines, Louisville has parking garages with amazing views at the top. If you go near sunset, you can get some of the city lights in the background. When it’s sunny, wear bright and bold colors to really stand out!

Indoor Senior Portraits

Think outside the box if all the “usual” options seem overdone – some of my favorite senior portraits have been indoors! This vintage-inspired session at the Brown Hotel was one of my favorites. Indoor options are also great in the summer if you want to avoid the heat!
